Garry Clifford is the former Washington bureau chief for People Magazine. As a career journalist, Clifford also taught at the University of Missouri-Columbia and Georgetown University. Clifford is currently writing a book on Washington, DC and working as a freelance writer. She provides important oversight and reporting help.
Suzanne Clarke is a private investigator in Portland, Oregon. Previously, Clarke was a senior investigator at the James Mintz Group, where she supervised and conducted a wide variety of investigations for litigators and corporate counsel. Prior to the Mintz Group, she was bureau chief of the Natural Resources News Service. Clarke's work experience also includes time at ABC's “20/20” and PBS's “The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer.”
Stephen Cohen, Ph.D. is a Senior Fellow in the Foreign Policy Studies Program at The Brookings Institution, and a preeminent scholar of south Asia. Prior to joining the Brookings Institution, Cohen was a professor of history and political science at the University Of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the founder and director of the Program in Arms Control, Disarmament, and International Security. Cohen has written and edited eight books, including India: Emerging Power, The Pakistan Army, The Indian Army, Brasstacks and Beyond: Perception and Management of Crisis in South Asia, Nuclear Proliferation in South Asia, South Asia After the Cold War: International Perspectives, and South Asia After the Cold War: International Perspectives. Cohen holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Wisconsin, and a master's and B.A. degrees in political science from the University of Chicago.
Wade Greene is a philanthropic advisor to the Rockefeller Family & Associates concentrating on issues involving international security, the environment, alternative energy, voter participation and the media. He has written extensively about these issues, including a book on arms control and articles in The New York Times, Newsweek and Time Magazine. He founded Nuclear Times magazine, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the Board of the League of Conservation Voters. Wade is a former editor of Newsweek, The New York Times Magazine and The Saturday Review, and wrote the report of the Commission on Private Philanthropy and Public Needs. He holds a MS from the Columbia University School of Journalism and an AB in social and economic institutions from Princeton University. Immediately prior to his work at Rockefeller Family & Associates, he was an Alicia Patterson Fellow studying the appropriate technology movement.
Robert Leavitt is currently the co-founder of Solutions Insights, a marketing and development firm for large B2B enterprises. He is the former vice president of the Truman Company, the former Associate Director of Research at the Information Technology Services Marketing Association and the former associate director of New York University's Center for War, Peace and the News Media. Leavitt has also worked as the Education Director for the Institute for Defense & Disarmament Studies and as a consultant to the Rockefeller Foundation.
Peter L. Kelley was a founding staff member of National Security News Service in 1990. Today he works as a public-relations consultant to public interest issue campaigns and green companies, as the principal in Kelley Campaigns LLC, and RenewComm LLC, both based in College Park, MD. He was formerly Vice President for Communications and Marketing at American Rivers, Communications Director for National Environmental Trust, and national Communications Director for the League of Conservation Voters. Prior to joining the Public Education Center, Kelley worked for 10 years as a newspaper reporter, at Newhouse Newspapers, the Harrisburg Patriot-News, and Maurer Publishing. He graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in government, studied public policy at University of Maryland, and taught communications at American University. Kelley Campaigns provides assistance to PEC on a pro bono basis.
Joe Trento has spent more than 40 years as an investigative journalist, working with both print and broadcast outlets and writing extensively. Before joining the National Security News Service in 1991, Trento worked for CNN's Special Assignment Unit, The Wilmington News Journal, and prominent journalist Jack Anderson. Trento has received numerous reporting awards and is the author of seven books, including America and The Islamic Bomb, Unsafe At Any Altitude, Prelude To Terror, The Secret History of the CIA, Widows, Prescription for Disaster: From the Glory of Apollo to the Betrayal of the Shuttle, and The National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
